Abstract:
The work carried out so far to study the context of a pilot project on the technological training of teachers in the province of Gwassi – Kenya, starts from the analysis of the global dimension to then reconstruct the scenario of this African country.
In Africa, the situation concerning the digital divide, the social gap in the access and use of information technologies and, in particular, the delay in the realisation of the infrastructure required to ensure their availability and use, is totally inadequate. It should nonetheless be noticed that the globalisation process is now contributing to a progressive penetration of new technologies in the African continent. The population should not only be able to use them, but they should also be able to promote, manage and regulate them. This is important because ICT carry major consequences on both social practices and local culture. The full version of this work can be found at http://www.elimu.it
